Finishing wiring the right wing.
Small update on the left wing -- all the wires are fastened to corresponding fastening points.
I got my 1/16" tinned braid cable so I proceeded with terminating the connectors.
To solder a braided wire to the shield window, I use a single strand of 22AWG wire to tie the braid to the cable.
Then solder it with a soldering iron. I did not use solder sleeves because I don't think my fan is good enough for them. I can make them melt, but I'm not happy with how solder flows and fills the joint. Since I've done soldering in the past, I'm pretty comfortable with my soldering skills.
The end result.
Well, I've just said I'm comfortable with my soldering skills and this photo looks terrible! I don't know why, in reality the joint looks good -- solder flowed everywhere, it's all smooth (not fully because of the "tie" strand I used, but still).
I finished both of the connectors, GMU11 and GSA28, and here is the finished GSA28 roll servo connector:
All wires are tied.
I chose to not use "quick" termination where shield is exposed at the same location as the float. The reason is that I'm using Gigaflight GF120T-24CANB cable, and its shield is too rigid to fold it back over the insulation (as required by Garmin's instructions).
